CASE STUDY 1 - Personal Injury claimant
We were instructed by a leading Motor Insurer to carry
out surveillance on a suspected injury claimant who was
allegedly unable to work due to a back injury and was
in receipt of a vehicle through the motobility scheme.
He came out of his address on two consecutive days and
on each walked around the block checking for any watching
eyes before driving away and collecting a furniture removal
van! Our use of specially adapted cars rather than traditional
surveillance vans ensured that he was not suspicious
of our presence. We then filmed him over the two days
professionally furniture moving and lifting all manner
of heavy furniture from address to address. When the
film was disclosed to the claimant's solicitors they
dropped the claim and are now being pursued by our clients
for costs and recovery of the car provided.
CASE STUDY 2 - Dishonest absenteeism
A London based transport company were concerned for
a driver who repeatedly went sick with a back injury
which allegedly prevented him driving. We were tasked
to carry out surveillance and filmed him over two mornings
driving his children to work and then engaged at home
running his own business. He was called into work for
an interview and was filmed being picked up by a friend
and driven into the workplace. During the interview he
exaggerated his back injury to his manager and struggled
to get out of a chair in mock pain. He was followed home
in his friend’s car and then filmed later carrying
out the school run again driving his own car. He was
sacked by the company and appealed. Once he was shown
the quality of the video evidence against him he dropped
his appeal.
CASE STUDY 3 - Worldwide trace
We were tasked by solicitors to trace a sole beneficiary
of a will going back over 30 years and in which all the
other named parties had died. The beneficiary had a common
name but by clever detective work utilising databases
and records going back over past decades we were able
to establish his date of birth and a possible address
in Australia. With the use of a close associate based
in Australia we were able to locate and positively identify
the beneficiary. He was duly pleased not only with his
financial prize but also being re-united with some of
his unknown English family relatives.
CASE STUDY 4 - Evasive debtor
We were asked by a client to serve some bankruptcy
papers on a local individual but when we called at the
address given we found it had been recently sold by the
debtor despite cautions held at the land registry. The
debtor had escaped with over £100k which he had
previously agreed through the courts to give to his creditors.
We pursued the debtor from one address to another as
he tried to evade being captured and hounded him into
submission. Realising he could not escape our attentions
he gave up the chase and presented himself for questioning
and handed over all the money in cash!
